A really common refrain I hear from company owners is that no one else on their leadership team thinks like an owner.
I have on occasion heard from owner CEOs that they’re frustrated that even other *owners* aren’t thinking like owners.
Scaling effectively needs more than the right processes. It needs your leadership team to have a scaling mindset. And a big part of their getting a scaling mindset is to think like owners (whether they are or not) or CEOs.
To make that happen, you need the right people, the right leadership development mechanisms, and a way to embed systems-thinking in their work.
A favourite of mine is to create and execute your strategy in a way that involves the entire team, regardless of their area of responsibility. A regular strategy implementation pulse, facilitated in rotation by members of your leadership team, does wonders to broaden the entire team’s perspective.
And always… always, on the basis of a well understood and shared set of values.
This strategic pulse is one component of our online group coaching programme for values and purpose-centred CEOs and leadership teams of technology / digital agencies and consultancies.
Will 2022 be another year of a strategy at best vaguely met? Of being a CEO unable to step back from the day-to-day to do the things your company needs to meet it's ambitions? Of having a purpose and values that don't directly connect to everything you do? We're looking for an intimate beta group of CEOs (10 to 40 employees) to join us on this upcoming webinar to talk through our Build on Purpose framework for making strategy, purpose and values happen.
